Jeffrey’s Bay

My second week in Jeffrey’s Bay I was alone because Louis and Erna, the friends I was staying with, had to go home to the Netherlands quite unexpectedly. However, in spite of their departure, I still had a good time relaxing and exploring. When it was nice weather (some days it was windy and cold with threatening rain) I took their dog for walks into town to the beach and enjoyed it.

The Sunday was the most special day. The first of September means for the South Africans that spring starts and in the Vineyard Church of Jeffrey’s Bay a special morning was organized. First of all everything had to be BIG, so big hats, and big whatever… It was fun.

Everything BIG

After the worship service a meal was organized with curry dishes. Delicious.

Sunday afternoon friends of Louis and Erna took me to Kragga Gamma, the third National Park in the neighborhood (after Tsitsikamma and Addo). There also we saw lots of wildlife and it was a great visit.

YES, we even saw cheetah. Here from far.

From up close. This cheetah was not really roaming free.

As was the case for this cheetah as well

The end of a great visit

On Wednesday 4 September I flew to Johannesburg for the training that I really wanted to participate in, the Channels of Hope Facilitator Training organized by AIDS Link. And it was great also. But more about that in the next blog.
